Robbie’s d-jay career was grounded in the late eighties. Back then, as I remember, he was wowing crowds and shaking established institutions along the pubs and clubs of Greenock’s dockland. Today those would be exceptionally scary gigs for any up-and-coming DJ but, at that time, Robbie’s inimitable blend of mixing and scratching were filling clubs and providing punters and clubbers with the extreme party-nights that they were all looking for. It was a hard schooling and one, that Robbie claims, he would not have missed for the world and, although he has since played at many top venues all over Europe, he still insists that those dock lane crowds were among the best he has played to……………………………Just in case he ever has to go back.
