5.1 Is my stuff secure, or can anyone access it?
Everything you upload to your eSnips account is stored on a secure server and you control access to every file and folder. Only the folders you choose to publish can be viewed by others, whether they are group or public folders. On eSnips you control your content - who can view and how you present it.
5.2 How can I be sure that only the people I want can see my stuff?
Your eSnips account is on a secure server meaning that you need a password to access it. Only people you invite to your group folders can see content in those folders. However, group folder members cannot access folders that they were not specifically invited to. Please note that when you choose to make a folder public you will receive a web address for it (public URL) and anyone will be able to view it. To be sure that files uploaded to your account stay secure, please choose your password carefully.
5.3 How do I choose a 'good' password?

Spend a few moments considering your password to help prevent others breaking into your account and deleting your files.  These guidelines should lead you to a password that is harder to crack.

For your password don't use:

  • The name of any real person, including your own or that of any friend or family member.
  • Any number associated with you, such as your birthday, phone number, address, passport number or social security number.
  • Any word, in any language, that could be found in a dictionary.
  • Dictionary words with common number/letter substitutions, such as zeros for the letter O, ones for the letter L or I, threes for E, etc.
  • Any of the sample passwords that you can find on various internet sites.

Ways to keep your password safe:

  • Include punctuation marks, such as .,!@# etc.
  • Use a mix of capital and lowercase letters.
  • Make your password longer than our 6-character minimum. Long passwords are harder to crack.
  • Use a code to create your password! For instance: the first letter of each word of a saying, or of a line from a poem that you know by heart. The last two numbers of the mobile phones of several people you know (if the numbers are in your own mobile phone, you can always recreate your password if you forget it).
