| 3.1 Where do I sign up? | |||||||||
Getting an account and free space on eSnips is easy, and takes place in two steps: registration and confirmation. The registration page looks like this: |
|||||||||
![]() |
|||||||||
| To create an account you will need to enter your email address, a password of your choosing, and a short test to confirm your humanity. eSnips uses your email as the unique identifier for your account, and also to ensure that only you can access your account. A confirmation email is sent to the email address you provide for security purposes. You can start uploading and sharing files immediately and have a full week in which to respond to the confirmation email to fully activate your account. | |||||||||
| 3.2 Why haven't I received the confirmation email? | |||||||||
| First of all, make sure you really haven't gotten the confirmation email by checking the Junk Mail folder in your email account. Your email service provider's anti-spam application may have classified it as junk and placed it there mistakenly.
If you cannot find the confirmation email, sign in to your eSnips account. eSnips will then resend you the confirmation email. If you still don't receive the email, try opening a new account with another email address, preferably not the email provided by hotmail or your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
In order to move all your files from your first account to the new one, you must share your folders between the two accounts. You can do this by sending an invitation from folders in the new account to email address of the first one. After the folders have been shared between both accounts, simply move the files from your first account to your new one. |
|||||||||
| 3.3 During registration, why do I keep getting the 'mistyped letters' error message? | |||||||||
| eSnips uses a random text recognition application to ensure that the account is being created by a human. If you see the error message "You mistyped one of the letters. Please enter the letters as they are shown in the image below", try to click on the "Give me other letters" link to generate a new image. If you continuously get the error message, please let us know using our support email. We apologize for the inconvenience. |
|||||||||
| 3.4 Why am I sometimes asked to log back in during a session? | |||||||||
| A session on the eSnips website will timeout after 20 minutes. This means that if you are logged into your account, but you haven't performed any action (such as uploading a file, creating a folder, leaving a comment, etc) for the last 20 minutes, you will be logged out automatically. Please let us know If you are being asked to log-in in a much faster rate than the time that was mentioned above. |
|||||||||
| 3.5 Can I change the email address I used to create my eSnips account? | |||||||||
| eSnips uses your email address as the unique identifier for your account. For that reason, and for your account's security, there is no option to change your email address in your account. However, we do offer a partial solution: there are no limits as to the number of accounts a user can open, so that you can open a new account with a different email address. In order to move all your files from your first account to the new one, you must share your folders between the two accounts. You can do this by sending an invitation from folders in the new account to email address of the first one. After the folders have been shared between both accounts, simply move the files from your first account to your new one. You can also download all the files from your first account and upload them to the new account. |
|||||||||
| 3.6 What do I need to do to make sure my account stays active? How long can I not login before my account is closed? | |||||||||
| To keep your account alive, and your files and folders accessible, all you need to do is to log in to your account once every three months. eSnips accounts are automatically closed if they are not logged into for a period of three months. | |||||||||
| 3.7 Why am I sometimes logged out from my eSnips account only a few seconds after logging in? | |||||||||
Please make sure your browser has cookies enabled in your browser. Cookies should be enabled in order you to stay logged into your account. To enable cookies in Internet Explorer, choose "Internet Options" from the Tools menu. On the "Privacy tab, click the "Sites" button and add www.esnips.com to the sites you allow to use cookies. |
|||||||||
| 3.8 Can I open another eSnips account and move my folders between accounts? | |||||||||
| Yes, there are no limits as to the number of accounts a user can open, so that you can open a new account with a different email address. | |||||||||
| 3.9 Can I close my account? | |||||||||
| If you don't log in to your account for a period of 3 months, the account will close automatically and you will no longer be able to access it. We recommended that you log into your account and delete your content before the account is shut down. | |||||||||
